Lowpoint grew out of the space that previously housed Solo Espresso on Poland Avenue, relocated to 3700 St. Claude Avenue where it now operates as a full-service specialty cafe and food destination in the Bywater. The bar takes espresso calibration seriously while the kitchen runs a proper menu that makes Lowpoint destination-worthy for reasons beyond coffee alone. The St. Claude Avenue corridor has become one of the more interesting stretches in the city for independent businesses, and Lowpoint anchors its coffee end. Reviewers updated as recently as early 2026 confirm the cafe remains open and operating at a high level.
