Plowshares at 1351 Amsterdam Avenue is a plant-filled, 50-seat roastery-cafe that anchors the Manhattanville Factory District in West Harlem, roasting daily on a vintage Probat machine visible from the floor. The space attracts Columbia and City College students alongside neighborhood regulars who appreciate the deliberately approachable pricing and the warm, unhurried atmosphere. Plowshares began roasting specialty coffee in Hillburn, New York in 2008 before opening this Harlem location as its flagship production facility.
