Opened in June 2023 by Andrea Rossignol and Berenice Talarmin, MAGMA takes its name from the molten energy that transforms materials before eruption, a metaphor for specialty coffee's own journey. The Danish-influenced interior features retro mosaic tile floors, sage green walls, and round dark wood tables that have made it one of Lyon's most photographed new cafes. Rotating guest roasters from across Europe such as Andy Cobbler from Antwerp and Deep from Marseille keep the filter menu fresh alongside a La Marzocco espresso programme.
