Founded by Chiara Caruso in 2016 and relocated to a generous corner 1930s building opposite the iconic Gazometro in 2022, Cafe Merenda has established itself as one of Rome's premier French-style viennoiserie destinations. The croissants undergo a three-day lamination process; the filter coffee rotates between Ethiopia and Brazil on a Moccamaster. The large outdoor terrace catches the morning light and fills quickly with Ostiense regulars from Tuesday through Sunday.
