Hidden in a quiet alley on the south side of Nijo Castle, Clamp Coffee Sarasa is a rare on-site roaster where the team selects green beans by origin and characteristic and roasts in small batches to maintain freshness. The shaded outdoor courtyard and lush greenery surrounding the converted building give it the feel of a private garden cafe rather than a commercial venture. Open daily 9am to 6pm, it is a dependable anchor for specialty coffee west of the Karasuma corridor.
