Embankment Coffee

Pouring beans from Embankment Coffee
Housed in a heritage-listed wooden rowhouse built in 1912, Embankment sits directly on the Tosabori River with its windows framing slow-moving sightseeing boats and the greenery of Nakanoshima Park. The light-roast-only menu draws from direct-trade relationships, and a specialty decaf option is offered for afternoon visits. The combination of Taisho-era architecture and serious third-wave coffee is genuinely rare in Japan.
